Shelby GT350 Track Day

Eau Claire Ford Lincoln Quick Lane Sales Manager, Dale Winistorfer, had the opportunity to participate in the GT350 Track Day at Road America. The event featured performance vehicles including the Ford Focus RS, Ford Raptor, and the Shelby GT350. Dale put the power of the new GT350 to the test by getting into the drivers seat, and cruising the track!

Here's what Dale had to say about this incredible experience:

"Something to cross off of my 'Bucket List'."

"Last Wednesday I was invited to Road America at Elkhart Lake, WI, to learn about and have the opportunity to drive the new Ford Shelby GT 350. After a brief introduction to the vehicle and signing the proper insurance forms, (who to contact in case of emergency!) and strapping on our safety vest and helmets we were the first group to drive the GT350. A professional driver accompanied me in the passenger seat explaining to me how to maneuver on the track. Three cones on the side of the track were designated for braking and one cone was meant to show you the best lane to set up for the next curve. The first lap was a training lap and the next two laps were to experience the performance of the car. The car is fantastic in acceleration and handling with 526 HP under the hood and 429 foot pounds of torque."

"After my three laps around the track the professional driver took the wheel for two laps. This was unreal. The professional driver flew around the track, using the huge Brembo brakes and the 6 speed transmission to perfection. A very intense driving experience."

"After driving the Shelby GT and listening to the Performance Team talk about the vehicles coming, like the new Focus RS, car enthusiasts will be waiting to get their hands on the wheels of one of these vehicles."

"Thanks to the Ford Performance team for the experience."

Dale had the opportunity to see some of the most anxiously awaited vehicles coming to the Ford Performance lineup. A track day like this is truly "bucket list" worthy! Check out some of the photos below!
