Ford’s Life-Size F-750 Tonka Truck

The F-750 Tonka truck has been unveiled!!

It is fully functional and carries Ford’s most capable gross vehicle weight rating of 33,000 pounds on a 158-inch wheelbase.  It’s Truck Tech Engineers dump body can haul up to 17,000 pounds to support construction needs.  The F-750 can be used for tipping and hauling, among numerous other jobs.  The F-750 Tonka truck will be on a tour of various shows around the US before it gets to work. 

The three diesel power levels available for the 2016 Ford F-650/F-750 are:

• Best-in-class standard 270 horsepower, 675 lb.-ft. torque
• 300 horsepower, 700 lb.-ft. torque
• 330 horsepower, 725 lb.-ft. torque

The 2016 Ford F-650/F-750 medium-duty truck lineup will be available this summer and built at Ohio Assembly Plant.

How To Maintain Your Tires

You should check your tire pressure when the tire is cold, or at least 3 hours after driving your car.  Tire pressure must be maintained at the manufactured suggested psi to reduce rolling resistance, which will maintain your mileage.  You can find your manufactured suggested psi on the driver's door of your vehicle or in your vehicles owner's manual.

To extend the life of your tires and improve performance, you should have tire rotations done regularly (approximately every 6,000 to 8,000 miles).  Rotating your tires regularly, keeps them from wearing unevenly, makes your ride smoother, and extends the life of your tires.  

To ensure your tires are aligned and inflated correctly, always check for bulges, cracks, cuts, penetrations, and abnormal tire wear, especially on the edges of the tire tread.

Every day impacts like potholes and railroad crossings, can knock your vehicle out of alignment.  You can tell if your vehicle's alignment is off, if your vehicle pulls significantly to the left or right when you are traveling on a straight, flat road with little to no cross-wind.  

Your alignment should be check if:

• You see a wear pattern developing on the outer edges of the tires
• You experience a difference in your vehicle's handling
• You've hit something

You should check your tires for wear and damage problems monthly or before long road trips.  An easy way to to check wear is by using the penny test.
